Ornamental garlic Christophii, also called Christoph or star garlic, stands out for one of the most impressive inflorescences among ornamental garlic. In late spring and early summer, huge spherical inflorescences, up to 20–25 cm in diameter, consisting of numerous star-shaped, metallic purple flowers, unfold on sturdy stems. Even after blooming, the ornamental inflorescences retain their shape for a long time, therefore providing structure to flower beds throughout the season. This variety is especially appreciated in naturalistic plantings, where it creates a light architectural accent and goes well with ornamental bellflowers and perennials.
