Peony Itoh 'Bartzella',' rhizome

Peony 'Bartzella' (Paeonia ITOH 'Bartzella') is one of the best known and most appreciated ITOH peony varieties. It is distinguished by its large, rich yellow flowers with delicate pink strokes in the center and a light lemon aroma. It blooms profusely in early summer, and thanks to the gradually opening buds, it pleases with its flowering longer than many herbaceous peonies.

The sturdy stems reliably hold the large flowers, so the plant usually does not need supports. The compact, lush keras looks great both in mixed flower beds and as a unique accent on the lawn or by the terrace.

ITOH peonies are hybrids of herbaceous and shrubby peonies, inheriting the best qualities of both groups. They are valued for their impressive flowers, sturdy stems, longer flowering and excellent hardiness. Like herbaceous peonies, their above-ground part dies back in autumn, and in spring the plant regrows from the roots.

'Bartzella' is completely resistant to Lithuanian winters. It grows best in a sunny location, in fertile, well-drained soil. It is a long-lived plant that can grow in one place and bloom more abundantly every year for many years.
